Lobster Place + Gourmet Cargo
A merger for the ages.
Lobster Place Wholesale is proud to announce our merger with Gourmet Cargo, a purveyor of gourmet specialty foods that exemplifies refined sophistication. Now, in addition to our full range of fresh, live, and frozen seafood, we offer an enticing line of best-in-category beverages, tea, butter, condiments, charcuterie, foie gras, and more. We have been working tirelessly to curate an eclectic line suitable for the most discerning of chefs, mixologists, and retailers including Rougie Foie Gras, Bordier Butter, Montaraz Iberico Jamon, Alain Milliat Juices and Jams, Omed Olive Oil, and Boulart Frozen Bread to name a few.
We know that competition in the Gourmet marketplace is tough, and “the big guys” carry everything under the sun. But we are marrying top-of-the-line products with a level of service that can only be found at Lobster Place, which means midnight cutoff for next morning delivery, a low $200 minimum, early notifications about stockouts and order status, and unmatched attention to detail.
Ask your Sales Rep or our Customer Service team for a price list with the complete line. If you don’t see what you want – ASK US! We are excited to grow our product range and will work hard to bring on lines that support YOUR NEEDS!

Wild and Farmed Salmon

Canadian Farmed Salmon prices remain erratic, up one week down the next. This week is trending up with demand remaining high.
Tuna

Tuna supply remains low with prices on the up and falling in recent weeks. We have brought in fish from Brazil, Barbados and Panama for this weekend.
Cod and Ground Fish

- Cod, Halibut & Black Bass have been spotty this week.
- American Reds & Grouper have been mostly unavailable.
- Jumbo Fluke is steady this week but prices remain high.
- Wild Striped Bass has rebounded this week, this makes a great alternative to currently elusive Red Snapper and Grouper.
Shrimp, Octopus & Squid

- Baby Octopus should make a comeback in October.
- New Caladonia Blue Prawns ASC Farm Raised. Excellent quality prawn, moderately firm texture, sweet flavor. This is a unique shrimp that you should try if you have never had them. In their raw form, they are a nice blue color. Peel, leave the head on and sautee lighly in olive oil and finish with some French Butter. Do not heavily season them as you will mask the subtle natural flavor of the shrimp.
