Dog Days Of Summer are Here

And Finding Relief is Tough

We are deep into the dog days of summer when the heat feels hotter, the storms seem stronger and the fireflies brighter as they light the night sky. It is the time of year when the only thing we should imbibe is a frozen beverage, but when the mood strikes and something else is needed, like a New Caledonia Head On Blue Shrimp or an ice cold Wellfleet Oyster let us know because we love to deliver exceptional seafood on time- as ordered.

Wild and Farmed Salmon

  • Prices on Canadian Salmon remain high. Since demand remains high it seems like the price will also remain high.

Crab

  • The Pasteurized Crab market remains tight. The supply chain has suffered due to Covid. We are seeing an increase in global effect that covid is having on transportation, labor and production.

Lobster Meat

  • The frozen Lobster Meat market is still tight. Demand is still heavy with very little supply to use to produce meat. The lobsters currently being used to make the meat are expensive further driving up the price of the lobster meat.

Shrimp, Octopus & Squid

  • Frozen Shrimp prices are also on the rise. Covid once again rears is head in order to wreak havoc on all aspects of the shrimp industry from fishing to production to transportation.

Clams, Mussels, & Oysters

  • Manilla Clams are spawning and this means that the quality is not great right now. We strongly recommend using cockles or littlenecks until the spawning is complete.
