Four Fish: The Future of the Last Wild Food by Paul Greenberg is an examination of the commercial fishing industry by focusing on four fish- cod, salmon, bass and tuna.

The Secret Life of Lobster: How Fishermen and Scientists are Unraveling the Mysteries of Our Favorite Crustacean by Trevor Corson is an often funny and always fascinating study of the societies the lobsters create amongst themselves under the sea and the lobstermen fishing for them above the surface.

The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness by Sy Montgomery focuses on understanding the unique personalities of Octopus from their emotional intelligence to their unique idiosyncrasies.

  • We are seeing more Tuna become available with offerings from many different countries. We have imported fish from Brazil for this weekend. These fish will have a beautiful cherry red color.

Swordfish

  • Swordfish supply remains low with very little available this week. Prices remain high. We will have fish from Brazil this weekend.

Shrimp, Octopus & Squid

  • Fresh Squid supplies have begun to recover since its lack of availability the past few weeks.

Cod and Ground Fish

  • N.Y. legal Wild Striped Bass has been steady in supply this week. It appears that the much of the Delaware quota has been met and the season there will soon draw to a close.

Live Lobster

  • Live Lobster prices have risen slightly- yet again. Supply remains tight but there is hope on the horizon as a few areas in Canada will be opening to fishing next week.
