An Alain Milliat Update
While continued supply chain disruptions have be a painstaking byproduct of covid, we have now received word that the European Raspberry market is another victim. Alain Milliat will not be able to produce Raspberry Jam until summer 2022, which means that there will be no supply until autumn 2022. In the meantime the Strawberry, Wild Blueberry and Orange jam are all very tasty on toast.

Specialty Items

- Maine Uni supply has dropped off. Companies in Japan are paying high prices for both the uni and live urchin.
Crab

- Stone Crab Claw season is in full swing
- Pasteurized crabmeat remains tight and expensive. The supply chain is still suffering due to Covid, from production to transportation and all points in between.
Cod and Ground Fish

- NY legal Wild Striped Bass supply has been scarce.
- Fresh Halibut supply remains low. Availability is spotty for the weekend. We have brought in farmed halibut as a way to bridge the gap.
Live Lobster

- A small amount of good news, prices of live Lobsters are down slightly this week. In new fishing area in Nova Scotia opened this week and another area is opening soon which will hopefully allow this lower price trend to continue.
Wild and Farmed Salmon

- Kvaroy Salmon shipments are on hold until the new year. They are allowing their fish to grow to market size.
- We are now bringing in Sixty South Salmon from southern Chili. Being farmed in very cold waters not far from Antarctica allows these fish have higher fat content, which means more flavor.
