Welcome to the Thunderdome

We don't need another hero, we just need to eat more fish.

Having spent almost a year in a dystopian nightmare that previously existed only in works of fiction, it is clear that we are all suffering from extreme pandemic fatigue. The thought of a mask free halcyon world on the horizon might be the only thing keeping most of us sane this winter. So maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon we will change out of our sweatpants, step out into a new world that looks remarkably like the old world, and we will meet friends for non-socially distant Sunday brunch of smoked salmon and poached eggs, or dinner with a shared plate of tuna tartar, hamachi crudo or maybe fried calamari. Just know that when this day arrives, we will be here, ready to deliver exceptional seafood, on time - as ordered.

Feast

Here are the best options for this weekend.

North Atlantic

  • Monk Tails
  • Pollock
  • Hake
  • Skate

Mid-Atlantic

  • Black Sea Bass
  • Fluke
  • Wild Striped Bass

Farmed

  • Bronzini
  • Char
  • Verlasso Salmon

Famine

Maybe don't order these.

Avoid

  • Blackfish
  • Bluefish
  • TIlefish
  • Grouper
  • Mahi
  • Dorade

Wild and Farmed Salmon

  • Prices have risen slightly on Canadian Salmon this week.
  • Shipments of Kvaroy Salmon from Norway arrive each week on Monday & Thursday. These fish are ASC certified, and follow the strictest standards when it comes to fish feel and sustainability.

Tuna

  • Tuna prices have dropped as production has increased. We have beautiful cherry red fish from Costa Rica for the weekend.

Cod and Ground Fish

  • Stormy weather has led to a lack of Halibut.
  • Supply of Mid-Atlantic fish like Wild Striped Bass, Black Sea Bass and Fluke as remained steady though there has been an increase in the price as demand has caught up with the supply.

Live Lobster

  • More territory in Nova Scotia has opened to Lobster fishing though bad weather has meant that very little is being caught. In a normal year, this might be an issue, but with a lack of demand from Asia and Europe it does not seem like there will be any supply problems.
