It might feel like only a few weeks ago that we announced our merger with Gourmet Cargo and introduced you to our new line of goods. But, since that time we have continued to seek out interesting products to please the most discerning amongst us, which is why we are excited to report that we have now added a new line, Plantin Truffles. Plantin was founded by Marcel Plantin and his pig in Provence in 1930. Since then the company has grown into one of the leading suppliers of truffles throughout the world. We will be carrying a wide range of items from whole truffles that are preserved and canned, to Summer Truffle Carpaccio and White Truffle Sunflower Oil. We are still waiting for the container to make it to shore which means that we are still out of both still and sparkling in the 500 ML sizes. Hopefully we will have better news soon.
Live Lobster
Live Lobster prices remain high. Processors are still buying up large quantities in order to produce meat and tails. There has also been an increase in overseas demand as Covid restrictions begin to abate in various places.
Cod and Ground Fish
- NY legal Wid Striped Bass is in good supply as is Halibut and Fluke.
- Even though American Red Snapper has been limited of late, we will have a good supply of 2-4s and 4-8s available for the weekend.
Scallops
The Scallop market remains competitive especially for the U10 size. Landing have been low and large supplies have been fighting for any supply they can get.
Montaraz Jamon Iberico
Just thought we should list this, because up should all be using it. Montaraz is a top producer of Iberico Ham. We have everything from carved trays to whole boneless legs and shoulders available.
